How did you do? Most likely you did better on the first part because we tend to recognize, respect, and remember those things in life that are big, while we tend to give little thought the small things.
But, is BIGGER always better? Jesus teaches that when it comes to spiritual things that bigger is NOT always better.
The big idea of week 3 is, God uses small things to do BIG stuff.
Read Luke 13:18-21 where Jesus explains, “What the Kingdom of God is like.” You will see that in the economy of the Kingdom, God uses small things to do BIG stuff. Jesus uses to illustration to drive home this point, mustard seed and yeast.
(A penny next to a pile of mustard seeds)
Don’t fall into the trap that you are too small or insignificant to matter, God sees us as something He wants to use to accomplish His purposes. You may feel that you are too small or insignificant to make a difference…good…because 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 says this is exactly the type of people He plans to use.
Let’s join together as God’s people and ALL do small things for God. Why small? Because God can use “little” you to make a BIG splash.
