Lifeboxes (Military Care Packages)

This kid-friendly project will be preparing care packages for overseas military personal. We will meet at the Church Annex, 724 West Holly Springs Rd., from 1:30-4:00 PM.

Here are some items we will be collecting for the project:

We are preparing care packages for our own church member Chief C. Rob Hoover and his team in Afghanistan. It is summertime there and the temperature is over 100F right now. So liquid, perishable food items are not recommended. Below is the list of things are needed the most (arranged by the urgency order):

1. Gold Bond body powder
2. Sunscreen face stick (no lotion please)
3. Chap sticks
4. Beef jerky, Granola bars and sugar free gums
5. Batteries (AA needed the most)
6. Deodorant
7. Visine Tear formula
8. Shoe in sole pads
9. Envelops and stamps
10. Small writing pads
11. Wipes and tissues
12. Tooth brush, tooth paste
13. Christian music CDs (new or used), itune cards
14. Magazines and other reading materials
15. Donations for postage (it will cost about $11 per box under 20lb)
